The English Elm Tree was once the most familiar and noble of all trees
found in the English countryside. The sad relics of all those lost to
Dutch Elm disease are all that remain in too many areas. We are very
pleased to offer a recently selected form of the English Elm which was
raised in Holland and which has shown considerable desistance to
disease. We would plead with anyone who has the opportunity to plant
one in a larger garden, boundary, wasteland, field, parkland etc - to
please do so so that this once familiar tree can be enjoyed once again
by future generations and as an aid to wildlife.
