COTONEASTER
Familiar, durable and popular for their always abundant display of
berries. Most fall into the shrub category but one or two make excellent
smaller trees with long lasting interest and these are described here.
cornubia 8’ Sometimes seen in larger shrubberies but of ample vigour
and makes a good smaller specimen Tree too. The long, elegant upright
then arching branches are clothed in elliptic glossy green leaves and
the generous bunches of brilliant scarlet berries last and last. The
foaming white fluffy flowers appear in May.

hybridus pendulus 8’ A small stiffly weeping tree with the pendulous,
curtain-like branches clothed in dark green shiny leaves, interspersed
with brilliant clusters of sparkling red berries as Autumn progresses. A
popular little tree.
