libani 8’ We do not normally foray into Conifers but this tree we have
been asked for so many times -
The Cedar of Lebanon. Many very fine specimens exist in the grounds
of stately homes, parks and estates as it was once more widely planted
than it is now and, when mature it makes a very grand specimen
indeed with its wide spreading majestic limbs clothed in glaucous greygreen
foliage. Curious barrel shaped cones are also produced on older
specimens. Slow growing though ultimately large, tolerant of most soils
and cold weather!
