ARALIA
This genus of hardy Asian and Asiatic small trees are grown for the
beauty of their long compound leaves which, on mature specimens,
can reach extraordinary long, luxurious lengths. Because of this they
appreciate a fairly sheltered site but are generally quite hardy and will
do well on any reasonably drained soil.
elata 5’ Huge, doubly pinnate leaves of 3’ or more in length, gathered
in an almost ruff-like arrangement near the tips of the stems. The early
Autumn sees this magnificent specimen crowned by large frothy
panicles of perfumed white flowers. Known as the Chinese Angelica
tree. Slow growing.
